Never flown before? Here is what the first tandem feels like

Most passengers start with no paragliding experience. Your pilot prepares the wing, explains the takeoff, flies the glider, and guides you through the landing.

Feeling nervous is normal

A first tandem flight puts you in an unfamiliar situation: a mountain launch, a wing above you, and open air ahead. You do not need to pretend that feels ordinary.

Tell the pilot if you are nervous. A good briefing is easier when the pilot knows how you feel.

You do not need to learn paragliding before the flight. You only need to understand a few simple instructions and follow them when asked.

Takeoff

Before takeoff, your pilot prepares the equipment, checks the conditions, connects the harnesses, and explains what will happen.

Your part is simple: listen, move with the pilot, and keep following the takeoff instructions.

Do not try to decide for yourself when to sit in the harness. The pilot will tell you what to do as the wing comes up and the takeoff develops.

Once you are flying

After takeoff, you settle back into the tandem harness. The pilot controls the paraglider, chooses the flight line, and manages the approach to landing.

If someone in your group does not want to fly

That is fine. A partner, friend, or family member can often stay in Bečići near the beach, hotel, or cafes while you travel to Brajići with the flying group.

Nobody needs to be pushed into a first flight. Tandem paragliding works better when the passenger actually wants to be there.
